POST SURGERY CARE

SCAR MANAGEMENT

The process of healing after surgery will always leave a scar,
however you can optimise the look and feel of your scar
through proper post-operative care. Scar massage, silicone
products, low level laser and moisturisation are all ways to
help your scar heal well. Treatment should commence 2
weeks post surgery and is most effective when completed
weekly for at least 4 weeks.

SWELLING

Swelling is a normal and essential part of the healing
process, however excessive and prolonged swelling
can be painful and needs to be addressed.
Compression garments and manual lymphatic drainage
(MLD) massage are ways to assist your body to
effectively and naturally remove and reduce unwanted
swelling.

BRUISING

Bruising post-surgery is another common side effect and
it is possible to assist your body to process and remove
the bruise quicker through low level laser, massage,
certain creams and taping.
